Arts and Culture

The Laguna Beach Art & Nature Festival returns in 2025 with even more interactive installations and immersive exhibitions exploring the intersection of art and the natural environment. It’s a must-see free event for those looking to experience the creative pulse of the community.

The restored Rivian Theater, a 1930s venue reimagined by the electric vehicle brand, now hosts community events, film screenings, and educational exhibits. It’s a unique and popular  addition to the cultural scene, blending entertainment with sustainable innovation.

The Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitational is an annual celebration of outdoor painting and Laguna Beach’s rich artistic heritage. Free public events like the Quick Draw competition and art show allow visitors to watch talented artists create masterpieces in real time. Held throughout the town, it showcases Laguna’s breathtaking landscapes and enduring connection to plein air art. This inspiring event brings together locals and art enthusiasts to honor creativity and the beauty of the natural world.

Laguna Beach Music Festival will take place from February 14 to 16, 2025, featuring performances by Caroline Shaw & Friends, Sō Percussion, and Gabriel Kahane.

California Cool Art Auction, Benefit, and Bash is scheduled for March 1, 2025. This event brings together the best of California's art scene to support the Laguna Art Museum. Get ready for a fun, art-filled night at the 43rd California Cool Annual Art Auction at Laguna Art Museum! This event features over 100 pieces of art up for grabs, with live and silent auctions that let you join the action in person or online. Sip specialty cocktails, enjoy some appetizers, and soak up the creative energy as art lovers and collectors come together to celebrate.

Of course, don’t forget about the monthly Art Walk, a tradition for Laguna locals. Held on the first Thursday of every month, this free event invites you to explore galleries, meet talented artists, and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks along the way. Start your evening at the iconic Hotel Laguna, then stroll up and down Pacific Coast Highway, discovering unique art and lively vibes at every turn. Many galleries host special exhibits or live music. It’s the perfect way to soak in Laguna’s arts culture while mingling with the creative community.

Wellness and Outdoor Adventures

Wellness seekers will love the introduction of beachfront yoga classes at several beaches in town, designed to harmonize movement and mindfulness with the soothing sounds of the ocean. Many sessions are donation-based, making them accessible to everyone.

Hikers can explore the updated trails in the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, with added signs and eco-friendly rest spots to enhance the experience. These upgrades make it easier than ever to enjoy the park’s stunning coastal views.

Just north of Laguna, the Cottages at Crystal Cove, have undergone extensive restoration. Within Crystal Cove State Park, these colorful and quaint beach cottages used to be weekend beach homes for wealthier families in the early to mid 1900s. Now, they are available for overnight stays.

Experience the Music in the Park Summer Concert Series. This is an amazing, free, event that takes place every July and August. Amazing bands, singers and musicians perform at Bluebird Park on Sunday evenings, starting at 5pm. Bring a low-backed beach chair and a picnic. This is a great Laguna Beach tradition.
